The Greater Bay Area Chapter of the AFSA was established in 1998 with a vision to deliver the tangible, direct benefits of the AFSA to local members in the San Francisco Bay Area. Recognizing that Dallas, TX, is quite far from our region, we understood the need for more localized support and resources for our members. While the online help, technical information, informal interpretations, and articles in the Sprinkler Age Magazine provide a great foundation, we wanted our chapter benefits to address the specific needs and concerns of contractors in the Greater Bay Area. With a Board of Directors composed of local Contractor and Associate Members, and an Executive Director, we strive every year to offer the most up-to-date and relevant activities, seminars, meetings, topics, and legislative assistance that you need and want. 1. Local Chapter Meetings: Featuring topics designed to help you, the contractor, save or make money. 2. Current Information: Access to the latest codes, regulations (like the Fitter Certification), laws, and manufacturers' products. 3. National AFSA Connection: A gateway to the resources and benefits of the National AFSA Association. 4. Networking Opportunities: Introductions to new people, ideas, and products. 5. Event Participation: Opportunities to give back to the Fire Sprinkler Community through events like the Annual Charity Golf Tournament benefiting burn victims, bowling tournaments, the annual go-karting event, the Oktoberfest Apprentice Competition and Manufacturers Presentation, CEU classes, and much more.
